Adrenal
fatigue and lethargy are a sub-optimal health condition with no particular or
specific symptoms. The symptoms vary over a pretty large spectrum. It includes low energy and weakness. There is no proper
explanation of any of these symptoms caused by fatigue. Usually, it is very
mild, and there is a full recovery after taking sufficient rest. However, it
may so occur that lack of proper treatment in the advanced stages of this
disease has lead to the complete breakdown of the body and its subsequent
functions. The entire process is complicated and may cause a problem in
detection and treatment.
The four stages
·
There are four stages of adrenal fatigue.
·
The first stage is known as the alarm
reaction. Here, there are not many health problems except tiredness and
fatigue.
·
The second stage is known as the
resistance response. It is here that certain signs of illness become prominent.
Very little can be done with medication during these two stages. The maximum
benefit can be derived from the rest.
·
The third known as the adrenal
exhaustion and the last stage are the most severe. Professional help needs to
be sought during these two stages since the body is on the verge of failure.
The basic process
Problems
with the adrenals mainly arise when
the central control system of the body crashes due to conditions of over
stress. When the body undergoes extreme stress conditions, the adrenal level
rises. During this time, there is not enough cortisol to support the high level
of adrenal. Glucose is secreted due to cortisol. Thus, insufficient glucose is
secreted by the brain. The brain cannot function properly, and the body goes
into complete overdrive. It is the last
stage which can be avoided with sufficient rest during the first couple of
stages.
Female hormonal control
·
The problems of the adrenals are controlled to a large extent by the female hormonal
secretion, mainly from the ovarian, thyroid and adrenal axis.
·
Imbalance of these hormones may lead to
the conditions of fatigue. It could be very serious.
·
Imbalance can lead to the dominance of
estrogen in the female body and hypothyroidism.
·
The use of drugs is a temporary means of
controlling this problem. It cannot be considered to be a permanent solution.
Symptoms of the process
The
symptoms of the process include many issues related to different organs of the
body. You may experience extreme tiredness, fatigue, intolerance, irritation,
temperature intolerance, high rate of influenza, lack of concentration, lack of
memory. You may also have low cortisol level, high insulin level, insufficient
glucose, hypoglycemia, problems regarding the thyroid glands, high blood
pressure and so on. Its symptoms are present in many systems of the body such
as the metabolic system, musculoskeletal system, the central nervous system,
peripheral nervous system and so on. Though it is difficult to recognize the
symptoms during the initial stages, it becomes much easier later on when the
symptoms get very serious. However, waiting for a later stage can very well
become fatal for your health as well as body.
